In Mrs. Garber's class we have been discussing many topics. The topic that i liked the most was that of one of the most controversial presidents ever. I bet most people have no idea who Abraham Lincoln's vice president was. His name was Andrew Johnson, and boy did he make a lot of decisions that people were not very fond of.
Andrew Johnson became president after Lincoln's assassination. Before he died, Lincoln was finishing his plans on the reconstruction of the southern states. Most people thought that Andrew Johnson would continue these plans when he became president, they were wrong to say in the least. Johnson did not do any of the plans that Lincoln was going to do before he died which caused a lot of friction especially with congress.
Johnson's plans for reconstruction were extremely severe, they included confiscating land and stripping people of their military position. Non of these plans had anything to do what with licoln want to do for the reconstruction of the south.
Johnson also was considered to be an overall just bad person. Many people said that Johnson could be found being loud and obnoxious and had a terrible temper that he often showcased in front of public. I don't think i would want my president represented that way.
Andrew Johnson will go dwon in history as one the worst presidents ever and that is clearly why he aws impeached

Haha. your so right about NO ONE knowing who lincolns vice president was. no one really cares. he obviously didn't do much. And your right, he did make a lot of bad descisons.
Hey Brian I enjoyed reading your blog. It was well worded and I defiantly learned a lot more about Johson by reading your blog. When Lincoln died everything got messed up. Johson didn't know what he was doing. You are right. Johson did make a lot of descions that not to many people were happy with. He had to much power that he couldn't control so he took advantage of it. I also liked how you talked about how Johson took peoples rights away from them. Great Job

Great job Brian! I really didnt know that President Johnson did such bad things like conviscate lands and strip people from their military position. I just thought he was just a horrible president who didnt know what he was doing. I also didnt know that he was obnoxious and had a bad temper. Although, your blog was well summarized I believe that you could have added more details on how he constantly vetoed everything. But overall, you did a good job.

no one really paid any attention to Lincoln's VP until after he died. even when he was president himself, he did a terrible job. he had such a bad temper during the whole thing, and really did nothing productive for America.
